Solidariti Rohingya: Harakah takut nak sebut Najib?

Saturday, 3 December 2016
KENAPA NAMA NAJIB TAK DISEBUT?

(SH 03/12/2016).

Slander! S’wak Report incurs PAS' wrath with 'RM90m from Najib' claim
mk - Updated 8 Aug 2016, 3:08 pm
PAS has criticised Sarawak Report over an article alleging that the Islamic party received RM90 million from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"It cannot be ascertained what is the objective, apart from wanting to link PAS with Umno," PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said today.

Describing the allegation as false and ill-intentioned, Tuan Ibrahim revealed that PAS would take legal action against Sarawak Report.

"The move to slander PAS will adversely affect the people's trust in all their previous reports," he added in a media statement.

Warning that the Almighty would punish those who indulged in slander, Tuan Ibrahim urged the people not to spread such news.

On Saturday, Sarawak Report published a comment piece claiming that Najib had wooed PAS away from the opposition coalition "in the normal way he woos – RM90 million is widely reckoned to have flowed into the top echelons of PAS in recent months (BN veterans would tell them they came cheap)."

The comment added: "To sugar matters further for PAS, Najib has gone on a crusade to show himself 'more holy than thou' on every PAS religious agenda, stirring up extremism in Malaysia and undermining civil law and institutions, without turning a single hair over the destabilising, divisive and dangerous consequences to his country and his own party."

Sarawak Report is operated by London-based Claire Rewcastle-Brown, whom Najib claims is part of the conspiracy to topple him from power.

The website has been instrumental in exposing the alleged abuses surrounding 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion in the prime minister’s personal bank accounts.

Najib has denied abusing public funds for personal gain. He has also been cleared of any wrongdoing by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali.

However, the United States Department of Justice had recently initiated legal action to seize assets in the US which it claimed were procured with funds misappropriated from 1MDB.
