When "Kafirs" Behave Like Good Muslims
A Kadir Jasin
EARLIER this month, Minister in the Prime Minister Department, (Datuk Seri) Azalina Othman Said was reported as saying that Umno was the best way of fighting for the religion.
Azalina is one of the newest and the most ardent admirers of the Prime Minister, (Datuk Seri Mappadulung Daeng Mattimung Karaeng Sanrobone), Mohd Najib Abdul Razak, having been rescued from political wilderness some months ago.
I also understand her reason for alluding to Umno being the surest protector of Islam. When nothing else works, people go back to religion and Islam is the best way of corralling the Muslims, especially the Malays.
Azalina: Umno is best protector of Islam
But that’s not what I want to talk about today. Instead I want to talk about the non-believers – the kafirun. Clearly many of them are more Islamic in their behaviour and actions than some Muslims.
The Sunday Star reported that the People's Action Party PAP) Member of Parliament for Bukit Batok, David Ong, had resigned suddenly on Saturday “due to personal indiscretion.”
No, he was not found to have S$877.3-million (about RM2.6-billion) in his personal account. Nor was he found to have lied about a huge donation he secretly received.
His indiscretion, according to media reports, is an extramarital affair with a woman who is a grassroots activist in his constituency.
This reminded me of an allegation by a Puteri Umno leader recently that Umno men treated Puteri members as sex objects.
Ong is not a Muslim. So there is no such a thing as “khalwat” or “zina” charge against him.
Even if he is a Muslim – which he is not – he could quote (Datuk Seri) Abdul Hadi Awang – the Pas President – as saying that the prosecution must bring forth three pious men as witnesses.
I don’t think it is possible to produce three pious men as witnesses because in Singapore they don’t have moral police and they don’t go around spying on lovers.
But I am pretty sure that the Singapore secret service keeps a close watch on visiting foreign dignitaries to see if there are indiscretions worth videotaping.
Channel NewsAsia reported on Saturday night that the affairs is believed to have gone on for at least six months, "and came to light after the woman's husband complained about it".
I am more than sure that in Umno-ruled Malaysia, there were married Muslim men and women who had committed a similar indiscretion behind the spouses’ back.
So in this kafir-ruled country called Singapore, an MP willingly resigned for having an affair with a married woman.
In that country too, some years ago, a minister committed suicide upon being investigated for corruption. Teh Cheang Wan was Minister of National Development when he was investigated. He was found dead on 14 December 1986.
Now you know why the kafir Singapore is sparkling clean compared to Malaysia that is built upon Umno-protected Islam.
And for that reason too they don’t like people using their banking system to launder money. That’s why they froze 1MDB-related offshore accounts. That’s why people who are suspected of wrongdoing were shown the door.
Save Malaysia. Sign here.
Wallahuaklam.
